Our News!
What a great season, 2023! We made fantastic new connections with the Black Mountains College, Nature Child and the Land Workers Alliance and taught lots of hands on workshops where everyone got muddy. We built a cob oven, cob walls, cob trials and introduced many more people to natural building! We also continued working with Primrose Farm market garden, Wales, and grew loads of lush organic, no dig veg for our local community.

WHAT WE'VE DONE
WHAT WE DO
Mudlove is everyone who has cobbed with us over the last 10 years. We exist to try to live in balance with the world and strive to inspire and assist others to do the same. We grow food, care for animals and make buildings, particularly homes, that champion our basic right to create shelter in a holistically beautiful, healthy, nurturing and uplifting form.
We were founded by Louise Southwell; a natural builder and former British architect from the UK. As an architect, Louise assisted both innovative, ethical clients to build sustainable education buildings and large corporations to build designer homes. She learnt design, technology, organisation, business and management on projects with budgets varying from a few thousand dollars to over one hundred million dollars. She now grows veg, has cows, and dreams of cob.
We play with mud and inspire others to do so too. Since designing and building our first earthen house in 2015 we have been leading apprenticeships, courses and workshops, teaching natural building techniques.
We aim to empower people to use the materials they find around them to meet their needs, with their own hands. We sculpt durable, comfortable modern buildings at minimal cost in as little as 3 months.
